It is with enormous sadness that we all learnt of the passing of
our lovely friend and past neighbour Margery Davies, formerly
of the Old Vicarage. Marg’s beauty, charm and grace were for
so many decades an integral part of village life and along with
Rees they spent many happy years here. We send our love
and support to Jonathan and his wife and family.

BINGO CANCELLED.

Leighton Village Hall planned to hold a Bingo Night on May 23th but the
government have commandeered the hall that very day for the
European Elections so we have had to cancel the Bingo (a later date to
be arranged). Due to the Brexit fiasco the election date is only
provisional but if you are keeping up with all the possible consequences then add
halting village Bingo playing to the list!

Get well soon to Chris Walton who has recently had a knee operation and we all
hope she is well on the way to a full recovery.

March Coffee Morning for Leighton Village Hall

Well done to Teresa Jenkins and her posse for running a very successful Coffee Morning. Lots of people came to enjoy a coffee

and crumpet including some new faces, everyone from babies to Great Grandparents. What a slick team and only taking 2hrs

from start to finish and an incredible £327.25 raised for Village Hall funds. Job well done. On top of this Phyllis Bayliss raised

money for her charity with her knitted ducks, Dorothy Schofield got support for her WI idea, David the Newsletter Editor &

Steve had a successful morning discussing the publication, Anne Bason sold several of her handmade items and generously

gave one for our next event. The draw and cakes and Lynne Harris at the bric a brac stalls proved very popular. Thank you to
JW
everyone for the items donated and for the support given on the morning to help finance your Village Hall.
