Thursday 10.15am - 11am and offers everything that you could
need from any large post office, has disabled access and Chelsea
buns as well! Call in for your Christmas stamps and parcel posting,
online returns, holiday currency along with any other
payment/transaction that you need and so much more – no
trouble parking, no queues just personal assistance right on your
doorstep.

Our own Lucy Davies has recently competed in 3 separate cycling disciplines in just 8 days!
We are more used to seeing Lucy managing and riding the Yorton Stud horses around the
village but she now also competes in another very exciting and dangerous sport, that of cycling
and at an extremely high level. Lucy is the daughter of Ann & Ian Davies, a sister to Will and Ed.
Lucy, who is a star rider with Hafren Cycling Club, began her testing week in France taking on
55km in strong winds and rain to join team-mate Rob Finch taking 14th spot in the Duo Normand.
Sadly the event resulted in a tragic road accident which claimed the life of British cyclist Ian
Bashford of Kent.
Lucy returned to these shores and to take 2nd place in a Saturday sprint event in Solihull before
taking 3rd in the Worcester St Johns Open Hillclimb on the Sunday. What an achievement!

Roma will need to buy another hat! Congratulations to Eluned Tibbott and Lloyd Bright on their recent
engagement . Lloyd popped the question whilst they were on holiday at the farm of a Tibbott family
friend in Canada and Eluned’s mother Janey was visiting there at the same time so she joined in the
celebrations.

Carol & Paul Harris had a fund-raising coffee morning for Macmillan on Sunday 2 October. Thanks so much to
everyone who came - your participation raised £95 on the day. We are also adding another £45 which was raised
through the sale of some fabrics left with us by our neighbour Sarah Mason.

Trelystan Harvest Supper made £834 thanks to everyone for their support. A very enjoyable evening was had by all!

CHURCHYARD WORK PARTY.......... THANKS
The sun shone ... and an enormous amount was achieved in a couple of hours by our willing volunteers.
They have left the churchyard and car parking area looking immaculate and well loved.
Our deep gratitude goes to (in no particular order!) David, Brian, Liz, Barry, Sarah, Haydn, Geoff, Bethan,
David, Jane, Catherine, and John. You should all be proud of yourselves for making such a difference.
Thanks also to David for his regular mowing, and to the
valiant band of strimmers who keep the graveyard grass in
check, to John for mowing with a finger-mower when the
church mower had a prolonged hissy-fit, and to Noemi,
Ines, Ann and others who raked up the resulting hay in the
baking sun in July.
If you would like to join in the fun, and help to keep this
beautiful part of the village tidy, please do get in touch
with David Griffiths, or James or John (churchwardens).
Churchyard work parties usually involve such things as
cakes, donuts and coffee, and everyone is welcome.
