Festival of Talents

Leighton Church

Saturday & Sunday — 13/14th July

The beautiful Victorian church in Leighton,
staged this festival with a plethora of skills and
hobbies on display including tapestries,
embroidery, model railways, knitted items,
paintings, a history of the church, poetry writing,
a walking exhibition, a Llanfair Ginny
exhibition, ancient maps, stylish modern sewn
items, choral music, a raffle and so much more.
Also the much admired white angel carved by
Georgina Naylor (the daughter of John Naylor
who built much of Leighton in the 1840’s-
Pauline Evans, John Markwick, Margaret Landgrebe, Jim Evans & Rev Bill Rowell 1860’s) was decorated for the occasion. An
exhibition of recent belfry improvements was on display.A team of eager bakers erved delicious cream teas to
all throughout the weekend. The exhibition ended with a ‘Songs of Praise’ service on Sunday 14th at 6.30pm.
