Congratulations to Dewi Owen of Pentre Mill on being appointed the Head of the new all through school in Llanfyllin.
Ysgol Llanfyllin will be combining both the present primary and secondary school into one school.
VILLAGE PLAYGROUND SPUCE UP Thanks to Rachel, Sarah, Haydn, Martin & Dyl for
sprucing up the Leighton Village Playground for us all to enjoy.
SPORTS INTERNATIONALS IN THE VILLAGE Good luck to Kathy Pearce who continues to
compete with the Welsh Ladies Bowling Team and no doubt has a very busy summer.
Also congratulations to another international athlete from the village, Fergus Stevens, who
plays hockey for the Welsh junior team and has just competed and won in Lithuania. After a little
more travelling Fergus is taking up a place in Nottingham University to continue his career and we
wish him every success.
HAPPY 97TH birthday to Doris who will be celebrating with her family on Friday 13th September.
