Glen Rowles The beautifully refurbished Raven Inn in Welshpool also Mark Rowles
Martin Dyson has a strong Leighton connection. Firstly it is owned by Denny Harris
our very own Leighton resident Glen Rowles who along
with his brother Mark has owned it for several decades
and has had the vision to refurbish it to such a high
standard.

What craftsmen could they find who have the skills to do
such bespoke work on this scale? None other than
Leighton’s very own Denny Harris whose workmanship
can be admired in the interior and another Leightonite
Martin Dyson who made all of the many windows and
doors . What a double act! One works days and one
works nights. Photographs of these highly skilled
specimens in their natural plumage are rare and ones of
them smiling even rarer but here we have managed to
capture a rare sighting of each in their natural habitat.

The very successful team that runs the Lowfield Inn,
Marton have now added The Raven Inn to their
restaurants and it is already proving very popular (See
the Raven Inn website for menu details etc.). Call in for a
drink and see the care taken to make this such a lovely
place or book a table on Tel: 01938 553101 or online.

Well done Jez Poole and Dewi Owen who completed running half a marathon
(thirteen Miles) at Manchester and raised over a thousand pounds for CALM
(Campaign Against Living Miserably) which supports men’s mental health
emphasising the importance of bringing men together to talk. CALM T -shirts
are available at £6 in store and online at Tesco’s . All profits go to CALM.
