NATIONAL GARDEN SCHEME

NATIONAL GARDEN SCHEME: POWYS GARDENS OPEN FOR CHARITY
Late spring is turning into early summer and we have gardens open for you visit every weekend in May. New
for this year are two gardens at Llanfair Waterdine and a revamped garden at Oak Cottage in Welshpool with
its collection of alpines as well as old favourites like 1 Church Bank also in Welshpool. And, there are gardens
open by arrangement where you can enjoy a special visit with family and friends or for your club or society at a
time to suit you. We can offer intimate spaces of town gardens, gardens with sweeping views of the
countryside, cottage gardens and grand gardens filled with rhododendron, so there is something for everyone.
The Powys 2019 booklet is now available in tourist information centres, libraries and businesses across the
county and the 2019 Garden Visitors Handbook with over 3,500 gardens across England and Wales is
available in bookshops or from the NGS website www.ngs.org.uk.
Thanks to the generosity of garden owners, volunteers and visitors the National Garden Scheme has donated
over £55m to nursing and health charities since it was founded in 1927. You can discover more about our
gardens and the charities we support at www.ngs.org.uk and by following us on Facebook, Instagram and
